Navicat feature tips – #5 Transfer Database Objects between Different Servers by Drag and Drop Method (Windows and Mac support)

Have you ever concerned how to migrate your data from one server to other server without difficulties? Navicat can help you to do this. Navicat’s Data Transfer helps you to transfer your data in a convenient way. In Windows and Mac environments, you can simply use the drag and drop feature to start the Data Transfer process by just a few clicks. For Navicat Premium, you can also transfer data across different types of servers, for example, transfer data from a PostgreSQL server to a MySQL server.

Step 1: Select those tables you wish to transfer and drag them onto your desired server in Navicat main windows. Choose either to transfer those table structures with or without data.

Example: Migration of data from an Oracle server to a MySQL server.

Step 2: A Data Transfer window shows. You can also define the transfer behaviors under the “Advanced” tab.

Step 3: Click Start when everything is ready.

With the drag and drop feature and cross server transfer feature, you do not need to worry about how to set the transfer setting and the structure difference of data between servers. Navicat can do this for you.
